Armed with a collection of vintage fabrics and beads gathered from her travels around the world, Amanda Pearl Brotman began constructing fait à la main evening bags out of her Greenwich Village apartment. The elegant, yet refreshingly quirky designs quickly turned into a collection inspired by antique jewelry, modern art, vintage travel posters and the fashion and culture of the Fifties and Sixties, officially launching in February of 2008.
Amanda's designs have been carried by stars like Chloë Sevigny, Frieda Pinto, Blake Lively, Emma Stone and Hailee Steinfeld. They have been seen on the pages of major publications such as InSTYLE, Elle, Town & Country and Martha Stewart Weddings. They have even been used for costuming on the hit television show Gossip Girl and are growing in popularity amongst stylists from coast to coast.
Most recently, Amanda Pearl has been awarded the Fashion Group International 2010 Rising Star Award for Accessories.
